Well guys! My trip is exactly a week away and I my
excitement is through the roof!!! I have already began the shopping and
checklists and the double checking the checklists and checking them again…and
again… I guess you could say I'm a little worried about forgetting something
really big - like my converter thing or my laptop charger.
I am partly writing this first blog post because I
am new to the "blogger world" and I want to make sure everything will
go as planned while I am away in España. I also cannot wait to
share my experiences with all you guys! I know Mom, Daddy and Gram will all
want to check in on me while I'm away, and so instead of having to call each
and every one of my "fans," my plan is to post my adventures here! (I
also plan on keeping a journal while I'm away in my own handwriting so that I
have another way to record my trip, but I figured this would be a great way to
attempt this first blog that I have wanted to start, but could not decide what
to blog about. ) I also will try my best to fit in time to Facetime (so don’t
freak out Gram) but just in case, you can read this if I'm out on the town soaking up the Spanish culture!
So where will I be, you ask? I
will be traveling to Madrid and Barcelona, Spain from March 6 til the 14th.
While in the country of the famous bullfights, we will be visiting everything
from the Prado Art Museum to Gaudi’s
open-air park, and I will even get the chance to put my feet in the
Mediterranean Sea! (I may sneak in a bathing suit in that suitcase of
mine…polar plunge anyone?) Of course I have my travel guide that I have been
reading in that little amount of free time that college students have, all in preparations
for the trip of a lifetime with the Scholars Program here at North Carolina
State University.
So for now, here we go! Keep our
group of 36 in your prayers for safe travel and keep me in your thoughts as
well while I try and pack all my stuff in ONE CARRYON SUITCASE. Yeah, you read
that right. Just one. Lets see how that goes!
Adiós amigos,
Katie Kimble
